I sat on the carpeted floor of the barnes and nobles, one of my favorite books in hand. It was in between a few shelves but not hidden, and just big enough for a study group to sit and chat. There were bean bags and pillows in the area as well, but I wasn't new to the floor. I preferred it actually. A couple sentences in to the first chapter and my face was just inches from the paper. A few others wandered in from the patio, but I was too focused on my book to care. They weren't really using the appropriate tone of voice for a library, but I did my best to ignore the noise. Someone would put them out eventually.
"Look at this nigga, got a book in his hand knowing damn well he can't read!" One voice said.
After a few seconds, another voice responded. "I know you not recording me, you FAT BITCH!" This voice was deeper and seemed more aggressive. I started to hear thumps and slaps as if someone was fighting.
"Aggghh! You crazy! STAAPP!" The first voice yelled.
What the hell is going on?! I thought. Is this not a quiet establishment? I stood up, following the noise and coming to a group of guys. two of them tumbling around on the floor. "HEY!" I yelled, all the commotion stopped and the attention was on me.
The one with the deeper voice looked up at me and gave a flirtatious smile. "Hey."

INSIGHT ON MAI DIARY
The "Please..." I hear her whimper and I go into full panic mode. "Calm down, okay? Deep breaths. Don't hang up. I'll be with you soon. Where are you?" I rush as I grab the car key sitting on the glass table. I run into the garage with my dad behind me. "What do you need?" Dad asks "A room. A big one." He runs back inside as I hear her voice again. "Basement...blood...Elle..." I hear sounds of movement in the background and connect the dots. Elle's bleeding, or something... "Deep breaths baby, deep breaths. It's okay, you're okay" I murmur reassuring words to her, thankful that there's no traffic. Several thoughts run through my mind as I drove to her house. The last time we spoke, she could barely stand me, but now she's calling me. I feel kinda used, but now's not the time to think about that. I reach her house in a matter of minutes and shove the door open. The house is quiet, save for my heavy breathing and footsteps. I reach the basement and take in the sight in front of me. "I think I'm gay." I say, leaving out the part about my... exposing dream about him last night. I watched his expression, waiting for some sign that he was angry. I felt myself become flustered at his gaze. "Uh, Yeah, Thanks." I stumbled out, "You're not mad?" I ask. His expression turns to hurt as he crinkles his eyebrows. "Why the hell would I be mad?" He asks, hesitating on the crackers and pushing them away. "I just thought-it's just- well... you just always seem so pissed when someone mentions the word gay." I spit out words, scared for his reaction. He sighs, "That doesn't fucking mean I hate gays. Normally when I do that it's because someone's using the word 'gay' to hate on them, it just pisses me off, you know?" He asks, bringing the crackers back into his lap and biting into them.
