This is a backstory, to how the Beast was imprisoned in the castle, from which the Beauty and the Beast story is based. I originally wrote this as a class project, but decided to post it. I would like to make it clear that is written as a backstory for the original story, Beauty and the Beast, not disney's horrible (but ethically pleasing) version.

Once upon a time there was a beautiful kingdom... Scratch that. this was a kingdom ruled by a malicious king. Once the Good king of the land past the queen had no choice to marry someone to help her rule the kingdom. Her son was too young and she couldn't keep it up on her own. The prince was mistreated and locked away in the castle by his evil step-father. The mystery remains why. When the prince escapes, having the knowledge that the king is locking him away out of fear of the power he possesses, and tries to leave. The guards are constantly searching for him and he is trapped in the town of Magnolia. When the beautiful maiden, Lucy Heartfillia, helps him away from the guards, he contemplates telling her that he is the prince. Before he can do anything strange events occur possibly reveling his true power. She helps him through all in his troubled times, and the prince cant help but fall in love with the beautiful maiden in the times of trouble. [SLOW UPDATES] Characters belong to Hiro Mashima. This is a clean romance. All I wanted from tonight was to sneak out of the ball to read in the castle's grand library and suddenly the prince is guiding me to safety even though he's the one they're after. In the morning we find out that the Light of the Realms was stolen and the castle is on lock down. All the guests from the ball must be tested to see who committed the crime and to top it off the Light of the Realms was what kept this kingdom safe and without it armies are moving in. Will we find the Light of the Realms before it is to late? Will the prince be ready to lead this kingdom into war if he has to? This is a sweet middle grade/ young adult romance. It is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast. Warning: This is a rough draft! So there will be spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors. There are probably parts in the story that don't make sense, need to be changed, or characters that are acting out of character.Complete

Carmen had always found her life as a daughter of an antique shop owner to be ordinary and adventure-less. Almost all of the members in her town think she's odd and the richest man in town wants to marry her, but she wants something else. One evening on a business trip she and her father get lost in an old almost abandoned castle. However they are not welcomed and the beast who lives there let's them know that right away. Carmen begs for her fathers freedom and the beast allows him to live if his only daughter agrees to live the rest of her life in this castle with the beast. Carmen agrees to live with the beast in his castle and as time goes on she begins to realize that this castle and the beast himself are not all that seem to be. Will Carmen find away to help the beast and in doing so will she come to love the beast and all that his...? Find out... We all know the story of Beauty and the Beast. This story follows the outline of the traditional story pretty well with some changes to make it seems more real, more intense, and not such a fairytale. There's a Mansion secluded in the thick forest south of town that Isabelle happened to run into one very stormy night. Denied help from the Master, but aided by the servants, she finds her life intertwined with theirs and there's nothing she can do to stop it. The Master is horrible - beastly. He's powerful, and manages to put Isabelle under a spell of his own. A story of two people learning about themselves by falling in love with the other.
