Here there be dragons

Let me tell you about Charlie. You see, Charlie is an adventurer and has been since she was five years old. But no one knows that or that she is a girl. All they know is that she is the best damn sea captain to sail this side of Boston. Never lost a ship, or a crewman that wanted to be saved, although there were one or two that went willingly to the sirens call. But she did not sell, to her clients with that idea in mind; she sold to them with the idea that she was an honest pirate. And that oxymoronic ideal got her more jobs than any other captain in port. It also got her into more trouble. But it was that trouble that got her the map, the one that had the sacred X on the corner of the page. Now beware of your own imagination, for it wasn't a treasure map that made Charlene Magbee become the first (to her knowledge) female, secret captain of the sea. No, it was something much more powerfully alluring that was written in small gold script next to the blood red x: Here there be dragons.
