Set in the future, the Kingdom of Peritia is a blooming world of technology and economy -and magic. With each citizen destined to have one power out of 18, gaining their magic through a mystic gem given when they reach four years of age, they are by far the most powerful country in the world, yet they abide by their own laws, and do not trade or communicate with other countries, only on diplomatic escorts, and those who leave don't return the same. The rest of the world has been stripped from their technology, leaving them in the state of ancient warfare, fighting over territory with swords and shields.
Meet Princess Talia. Her name meant dew of Orb, yet the gem that chose her was dark and cruel. The seventeen year old heir to the throne, she is devastatingly beautiful, and has everyone she wants in the world -except her freedom. Until Talia escapes the walls of Peritia, into the warring country of Tegimen, and becomes a soldier in their midst. Where she learns the truth about the horrors of the outside world, outside the comfort of her home country. Where all women were suppressed, and men held authority. She couldn't keep it like that.
And it's even worse when she realizes she doesn't like men at all.
