Maya's adventure started when she spends a weekend away from home for the first time, from a drab, provincial and boring life.  All she knew apart from being adopted was that her granny was way too protective of her.

But when she finds herself and her friend Monica on the run from creatures she thought only existed in tales, she learns about the magical world called Vironia. This world is caught in a struggle with their ailing Sea Queen and Maya has to play a part in a prophecy when all she really knew was that she wanted no part of it.

When their parents were kidnapped with nothing but strange markings as their clue, Maya seeks the help of the sirenas and learned of an evil creature named Lamia who harbors plans of sucking all the life out of Vironia's seas by evil magic. Only the Sea Queen has the power to defeat Lamia. Maya and Monica's quest in search of the palustris, a magical seaweed that can cure any illness, and save both their parents and aid the Sea Queen throws them into dangerous territories and life-threatening situations bringing them closer together. And within Lamia's clutches.
