A minor Shadowhunter novella, based on the popular series' by Cassandra Clare:-Tiria Stonehall is just a regular shadowhunter. She kills demons. She works shifts at the institute. Occasionally, she even takes out the bins. But one is thing is bothering her. A dream. A dream with such vivid verisimilitude, it doesn't seem like a dream at all.
Then there's Ivory, Tiria's parabatai. Something seems to be up with her too, but she can't seem to put her finger on it. But is Ivory the problem? Or is everything just as it seems: in her head?

The young shadowhunter Aleksa Monteverde, called Leksi, finds herself in the academy in Idris after her parabatai Annabeth Kingsmill was killed by a demon. She gets to know the kind Blake Pangborn with whom she gets along pretty well and they immediately become friends. But next to Blake there is a mysterious boy named Elijah Blackthorn who seems to hate everything and everybody. Stuck between a friend and a love interest, Aleksa is confronted with even greater problems. The Council brings the charge against her, that she wasn't present, when Annabeth Kingsmill died. They blame Aleksa for her death. While Aleksa tries everything to get over the loss of her parabatai and to get back to the institute in Montreal, she has to struggle with the Council and them wanting her to visit the City of Bones until the hearing. But her new won friends help her and Aleksa soon finds out the real reason she was held out of the investigations considering Annabeth's death and sent to Idris. The story takes place in an imagined academy, mentioned in the TMI books by Cassie. Since I love academies I had to write about a story happening here. But the story also sets in various places over the world and reunites some familiar places from the TMI books with new impressions. New characters are introduced and also some old and well-known characters will appear during the happenings.Complete

During her brief but intense session with Dr. Codwell, Tay revisited a relationship that ended with the murder of her affaired lover and shortly after an obvious confession, but not even scratching the surface of what was underneath her pain. After deciding to see her therapist, she needed a good dose of friend therapy. Unfortunately, Tatum still wasn't ready to discuss her real issues, a Black woman with Googled diagnosed anorexia and newly added schizophrenia. So, she decided to do what she always does, divert the conversation to something else. This something was Kurt and Addison. Ending the first volume the same way it began, Tatum finds herself in her diary still confused and running from what was truly troubling her... Him. It was him. Not Addison. Nor Kurt.
