Lilac and Ned are two very different people, with a few things in common.

They're both feel out of place, they both feel awkward with some interactions, and they both have the same extraordinary gift, they also thought they were both alone as they carried the burden of their gift on their shoulders.

But then, Lilac finds herself in the middle of a crime, and of course she gets dragged into the Pie Maker's life, both of them trying to hide their gifts from the other.
