We know her story. But have you ever wondered what it was like on the home front, in District 12? This story is Gale's, his outlook on the games, his feelings about his best friend's situation, and his interactions with the people of District 12. The story is set during the time period of "The Hunger Games" (book one of the trilogy). It is written from the perspective of Gale Hawthorne, and does not concern any events in books two and three. This is my first fan fiction, my first "real" attempt at long form prose writing, and my first Wattpad story. I appreciate constructive feedback, but please, no hate. While the characters and some plot points are based off of Suzanne Collins's Hunger Games Trilogy, (which I in no way own the rights to) I have created this story using my own imagination. Finnick on the other hand is like his aunt Prim and grandmother. He likes to take care of people. The story starts with Diana as a seventeen-year-old on the day of the reaping of the 99th hunger games. The Mellarks have a track record for being in love with their district partner. Will it happen again with one of their kids. Also Katniss, Peeta and Haymitch don't have to be mentors. I don't own the characters of the original hunger games.
