They were used as a science experiment, but the humans soon forgot about them over time, leaving the cats to fend for themselves. Years and years passed and the cats finally managed to make a stable living place for them. But a young one yearns to explore what this world has in store for their future. Will they leave the island behind? Or will they stay with their loved ones?

It wasn't a question but I answered anyway "Of course. They are family." "What if they don't feel the same way?" "Then that's understandable. They had their trust broken at a very early age by the people who were supposed to protect and love them. I have been very open with them and have told them several times that they are family to me now. I have also said that if they don't feel the same then that's okay. Either way it's my job to protect and love them" This story embodies the trope of Found Family. When their dad brings home another stray to the ranch, but this time it's a cat. They are on edge as the last one caused more trouble than they were worth. But when the stray cat shows up on their own at the ranch they have to reconsider this stray and find ways to make them want to stay and not wander away as everyone grows attached to the stray cat. Then an old friend reappears, making one of them get into trouble more than once. As a new resident of the town has trouble getting used to the new environment, but with a bit of help, she is getting comfortable in more ways than one.
