I wrote this for EVERYONE. To appeal to anyone that reads ANY genre. It combines almost all of them. It's an introduction to the Worlds of Within universe. When you get to the action parts (which doesn't take long) you should be invested enough to want to unravel the mysteries and enjoy its intrigue... The flood is raging. A terrifying, heartless mountain of water, swallowing the world . The tunnel networks? Of course, that won't save them. The forests? Like leaves in a breeze. The lookout towers and trade hubs? Gone. Washed clean. Every home, every last trace of what once was. Gamleon is the first to see it ... and survive. His mind is near collapse, his heart broken. He runs. What would YOU do? A cyberpunk short about parties and drinking. Or is it? --------------------------------------- The first (and sadly only) short story I ever completed. It's actually 6 years old by now. Sci-fi anime fans may recognize the names Cyberia and JJ from Serial Experiments Lain. This was deliberate, though I would not call this story a fanfiction. Rather they are a homage to one of the works that got me into sci-fi. I am very much open to feedback. Please note that English is not my first language, but constructive criticism in that light is equally welcome. Last but not least, I hope you will enjoy reading this.

Just the soft and comforting rain surrounding us. "I know" I smiled grabbing his hand in mine. "But I think we both know that there is no choice to make" I finished as the rain stopped abruptly leaving us with distant howling deep in the forest. My mind was made up. I've been told by many that I can be a very indecisive person. But this, this is definitely not something that I had to ponder for long. My decision had been made. I think, deep down, from the moment I laid eyes on him I knew. I am rejecting the Alpha of the Silver Moon Pack.

I was almost to the door when I remembered the leather jacket I brought. I turned back to the room and just as I entered the most wonderful smell hit my nose. My wolf started to go crazy and I looked up to see a small pale girl with black hair in a bun and pale blue eyes. All my wolf kept saying was MATE over and over again. The room blurred until all I saw was her. She was cleaning up the table when her head snapped up to my direction. Her eyes widened and she instantly bowed her head down and stepped back from me. "I am sorry Alpha Colton I did not know you were coming back." She said shaking in fear. Just then Alpha Andrew walked in and slapped her. "DONT JUST STAND THERE CLEAN THIS SHIT UP!" My wolf sprang forward and I grabbed Alpha Andrews throwing him across the room. I Knew i was on the verge of shifting but it was pointless in trying to calm my wolf. "YOU DARE LAY YOUR HAND ON MY MATE!" I growled then grabbed his head smashing it into the wall knocking him out and turned to my mate. She looked at me with wide frightened eyes and backed away. I knew that my eyes were glowing red and my canines were out but I was pissed and didn't have a good temper. When she stepped away from me again I let out a growl and she instantly froze. "MINE." Charity Andrews is a werewolf who hasn't shifted yet. She is abused and mistreated by her pack for this reason because they don't think she is anything but a worthless human. That all changes when Alpha Colton comes for a meeting. Alpha Colton is the coldest meanest Alpha that many fear. When he goes to Alpha Andrews pack to settle a rivalry he didn't expect his mate to be the packs punching bag. He has been looking for his mate for a long time and now that she is right in front of him he is pissed at what she has gone through.

"Alex," he responds. His eyes look over my body. "Your are so beautiful princess. Please let us mark you. Please," he begs. "Alex, that is enough." I look into Kole's eyes to see them back to normal. Alex whispers in my ears, "one day, we will go so rough with you and you will be screaming our names." I shiver under his words. He smirks knowing the effect he has on me.
