It never dawned on me that my current situation in life would bring me here. My dreams, goals, and aspirations all halted and cast out as sacrifices while I encountered the unthinkable horrors that I now embodied. I was my worst nightmare. An emotionless head floating around with only a beating heart to prove that I was alive.
I never wanted this to happen. Not to me, my brother, or to anyone. No soul should have to witness the fixed images my eyes were constantly glued to. It ate away at my insides, like a termite chomping away on old wood. I wouldn't wish this feeling upon my worst enemy.
I knew something had to change. The small pieces left of my sanity were dripping down my cold skin like wax under a hair dryer, and I knew he felt it too.

I innocently asked, yanking my arm from his grasp. I tried to back away, but he held onto my chin with his fingers, glaring daggers into my eyes. His orbs suddenly turned a lighter shade, inspecting the damage done. "who hurt you?" His eyes not once left the bruises. I was ashamed but the anger boiling below my surface was becoming hotter and hotter and soon I would explode. "hickeys. Leave me the fuck alone, I'm fine." I said between teeth, pulling away once again. This time he took me by surprise, actually letting me walk away. I turned on my heel until he grabbed my shoulder and pulled me close.
