Lance must do what he can to protect the people that he cares about from the dying world that they live in. So he's joined a group that offers protection and warmth for them, this is all that's important to Lance. Even if it means giving up his body and mind to the abusive nature of their leader.

Keith is alone in a world that wants to kill him and everyone he's ever cared about has been taken from him. Keith has gone mute for this very reason. One day after escaping a hoard of the diseased, he is held prisoner by a group of people who find his presence suspicious.
