poems for those who - have been at their worst and have been at their best - have grown up and realized that things are okay - have grown up and realized things are not okay - have fallen in love over four times a day - have doubted everything they've ever done - been diagnosed with mental illness - have fought that mental illness - have conquered it - have ever went to high school and hated it - have ever been so lonely and so sad - have ever loved themselves - have ever wanted to put their writing out there - have ever wanted to achieve their dreams - have ever had a feeling so strong that the only way to get it out of your head is to write it down and show the world that the voice inside your head is saying something that's important to you

| WATTYS 2018 WINNER: THE POETS | ❝Only when one can smile at her own reflection, be proud of her own thoughts and be happy with who she is, will she learn to fall in love with a candid picture.❞ Unveiled, unmasked, revealed. Displayed for the world to see, is her true personality. At first, she believed thoughts were just better left unsaid. She believed in bottling up her tears and locking away her secrets. Eventually, she let out her first whisper of silence. Taking baby steps, she slowly made her way into the world. She opened up her doors and took off her mask. Now, she's ready to show her true colours. She's ready to uncover those scars hidden beneath the painted smiles and the coloured lies. She's ready to be Candid. ~A poetry collection~
