Dan is nothing but a dark abyss, thinking of how meaningless his life is. His best (and only friend) Phil is light with beautiful ocean eyes and a bubbly personality, thinking that everyone has a purpose and meaning in life. So once Dan tries to commit suicide, finally about to have the sweet release of death, Phil arrives just in time to save him. When Phil saves Dan, they are both hit with the knowledge that they love each other, way more than just 'best friends' should.
