Melanie is a nerd. Simple as that. She's one of the smartest girls in her 11th grade class. Lucky for her, her neighbor is the school's designated bad boy; Jake *note the intense sarcasm*. They've known each other since kindergarten and have hated each other for the same amount of time. When Melanie find out she's going to be responsible for making sure Jake passes 11th grade, she's everything but happy. Jake's friends have even dared him to make her fall in love with him. Will this end in disaster? Or maybe love?

Jessica is your everyday not-so-stereotypical nerd. She does not act like regular nerds, who are obsessed with having perfect grades, although she is an A+ student and not very noticeable. She is more like wallpaper than an actual talking human, until she meets the school bad boy. They became immediate enemies (well, after she gets over his good looks). They are forced to spend time together since they both are in many of the same classes and have the same job. But he begins to rub off on her, and she suddenly becomes more confident and courageous. Is this a bad thing? Or is he just a bad influence?
