The Mutant Underground Headquarters was the safe haven Lainey Parker had been looking for. After almost two years of living there, Lainey thought that she had figured it all out. But everything seemed to fall apart when she was unexpectedly met with two mysterious siblings with amazing abilities.

This is a story that is about what I think would have happened if Blink never came through her portal at the end of the show. There are new characters, interesting storylines, and many character arcs. After everything, the Mutant Underground has been through somehow it is still up and running. Andy and Lauren are struggling to deal with everything that has happened. Their powers keep malfunctioning. Lorna's stressed, how does someone put a nationwide group back together? Mia and Josh got found out by Sentinel Services. They were found by the Mutant Underground only by chance. Esme is trying to be good, making friends, helping out, but is it enough? New challenges are faced every day. The Inner Circle is still up and running and they are trying to take the underground down in new ways all the time. The Purifiers are still attacking mutants at an increasing rate. Sentinel Services was hunting Mutants and they were getting closer and closer to the Underground. It was only a matter of time. *I do not own any of The Gifted characters or storylines, only the ones that I wrote and my OCS.* 43,354 words Part two is titled The Darkness Overwhelms.

This story consists after the events of the finale of the Gifted TV show. Except this is a what if. so I have changed the outcome of that episode. the Inner circle won and achieved their goal of blowing up the government and starting a mutant homeland. the story takes place a few years after when Dawn the daughter of Marcos and Lorna has chosen to fight back and bring back the mutant underground. I own none of these characters just the plotline.

Tate thought she'd never be rid of that nut house, until one day some woman named Evangeline comes in offering her and Lorna a ticket out. There was a catch though...there's always a catch. The two were to lead a network that the X-men left behind. And that's when they met John. He was assigned third leader of what is now known as the mutant underground. John's a tracker, has superhuman strength, super cute. Four years later and the Mutant Underground has grown tremendously. Lorna, John, and Tate, have met a lot of people some they even consider friends.
