Andrew Green was a normal man applying for the U.S. Secret Service. One day, when he meets the love of his life and the President of the United States, his life changes forever.
When a nuclear explosion occurs in Scottsdale, Arizona, a group of people are affected. They gain superhuman abilities from the radiation of the blast. In a matter of days, they master their abilities.
When Andrew discovers his ability to move matter with his mind, he uncovers a terrorist plot to kill the President and millions of others. Andrew must use his powers to protect the President, his love, and America from those with abilities like his.

A nuclear explosion wipes out a small town in Indiana, which either kills, or rewrites the cells of anyone caught in it's range. Some people weren't able to handle it's affects, others have been changed. Everyone who survived was given a supernatural ability. Hallie Osborn was affected by the explosion, and was one of the few people her age who survived, and is taken into a hospital of sorts for people like her. Finn doesn't remember anything outside of the hospital, the first thing he could remember was the chemical tank. He's not sure why he's put in there so often, but isn't allowed to ask many questions. He's eventually introduced to the rest of the gifted, he explains to Hallie his time in isolation, not understanding how important he's become.
