Německo, rok 2048. Probíhá válka mezi Severní Koreou a Spojenými státy. Korea se chystá odpálit jaderné hlavice, ale jeden ze sabotérů změní kurz hlavic. Jedna z raket dopadne do Polska, několik kilometrů od hranic s Německem. Celá Evropa je pobouřena, přidá se na stranu Spojených Států. 3 roky po svržení bomb a začátku války je Německo rozděleno na dva sektory- Sektor pro radiací netknuté lidi, a sektor pro lidi, kteří byli ozářeni, a jejich geny zmutovaly. V sektoru pro "čisté" lidi žije mladý Peter, který má v druhém sektoru svou sestru Jane, jedinou rodinu, která mu zbyla.
