Tails (Gwyssa's P.o.V)

Lyla was laying on the cold hard ice, only now that ice was under water. I saw her get swept away and I looked down focusing on my golden starfish necklace. It started burning against my numbing chest. Since we were under the ice I had no fear of someone seeing me. Warm water surrounded me and I swam a fast as I could towards Lyla, only faster. I heard shouts above the water and hoped the couldn't see me. I swam faster and faster until I finally caught up to Lyla, only she wasn't moving anymore. She was laying down in the rocks, blood coming out of her arm. She wasn't breathing as she lay unconscious on the river bottom. Then I saw her mermaid tail necklace turning reddish, I grabbed it with my bare hand. It was warm, her necklace held the same power as mine. I once again felt the warm water flowing around. With one flip of a tail, I hid behind a large rock before she awoke.
