After being deployed abroad, Sergeant Jason Williams, UK infantry regiment, leads his troop of five on a minor mission to protect the borders of a small town under the threat of invasion.

Whilst there, he not only has to encounter the unrest of a village in shatters but also keep his newly formed relationship with Private Robin Underwood, the new recruit on his first deployment, from slipping out to the rest of the squadron.

Robin, growing in confidence as a soldier but also harbouring a desire to prove himself, becomes increasingly difficult for Jason to control.

Especially as Jason's feelings for the man seem to spiral with each day spent in foreign territory, ultimately making him consider having to make the hardest decision of his ten year military career.

This is the sequel to Active Duty and is best read in sequence.
