Once a year, his past claws its way back into this world to haunt him, and once a year he tries to hide. It always knows where to find him. Half-written for a Halloween contest on Tumblr in 2015, sloppily finished today on my phone. Based on this:
On the custom of wearing costumes, Christian minister Prince Sorie Conteh wrote: "It was traditionally believed that the souls of the departed wandered the earth until All Saints' Day, and All Hallows' Eve provided one last chance for the dead to gain vengeance on their enemies before moving to the next world. In order to avoid being recognized by any soul that might be seeking such vengeance, people would don masks or costumes to disguise their identities".

Will is starting the last half of his senior year of high school at a private academy in New Hampshire, just trying to get through it so he can move on with his life. A chance encounter with sisters Ash and Anna lead to finding out about a lot of hidden drama in the little ski town. But Will is hiding something too, a big something that that would take a major leap of faith for anyone to believe, let alone accept.
