"I love you." He spoke with so much sincerity that my heart broke there and then. I couldn't bear to look at him. I knew that if I did, I'd fall and be engulfed by the the darkness. He did awful things, unthinkable things, what does it make of me if I accepted him.

With a heavy heart, I spoke, never daring to face the monster I grew to feel for. "You're a monster, Tate. Love isn't something you get to feel."

At some point, I guess I was right. He doesn't get to feel it. Because everyone he loves ends up leaving him, abandoning him. I thought I was better, I guess not.
