The world is left in ruins after an unforeseen virus casts its unforgiving shadow over the life Saige once knew.
When the dead start to rise, who will end up on top? The living? Or the ravenous Walkers?
In trenches of mayhem, the hordes of flesh eating zombies challenge Saige and other existing survivors in ways they never anticipated. Some of those ways will change them forever.
Nations disintegrating, rival groups battling for territory and supplies, inevitable loss, and total destruction of our once auspicious existence will drive some people to their emotional breaking point, some to their mental breaking point... Some to an early grave.
In the midst of all of the chaos, who can Saige trust during her violent struggle for survival? Some survivors are worse than the dead.
Only the strongest and most cunning will thrive during this unfortunate plummet into the pits of darkness.
The human race is going out fast in a downward spiral, and all Saige and fellow survivors can do is sit back and do their best to survive.
As their numbers rapidly dwindle, can the world be exhumed? Or is it forever lost to the cold lifeless clutches of the walking dead?

Y/n was your average college student before the world went to shit. She lived in Atlanta with her childhood friend, Glenn, and had never once left the city after she had moved there. However, the end of the world changed that, forcing her to leave the city and wander the highway. When the city was overrun, she was separated from Glenn and forced to flee the city, which she hadn't left for years. With no idea where to go or what to do, she simply wandered down the highway. Story starts right after the incident at Hershel's barn but does not follow the story line of the show after that. The main character is a young woman named Nora who at first has developed feelings for Glenn after he was the one who helped get her out of the city. When she realizes she's held on to her feelings too long, she quickly starts to feel lost. Nora is somewhat of a trouble magnet but most of all she just wants to find her place in this new world. Along the way, she finds comfort in an unlikely person. (I do not own the original art for the cover) {I started this story back in December 2011 on Tumblr and although it didn't get the fan following that I had always hoped for, it did well in it's own way. It had loyal followers and I got comments on how much readers loved it. I thought I would try posting it on Wattpad to see what becomes of it. The story is completed on Tumblr and as I bring it over here, I'm also doing small rewrites to the story. There are scenes that I needed to cut out and change up just because my view of things has changed as well and I wanted this story to reflect that. Before the outbreak she was a cop just like her brother. After Rick got shot and ended up in a coma the world fell apart. The dead came back and started attacking the living. The military fell too quickly, the city was overrun by the dead and now she was at an old quarry only a few miles outside Atlanta with her Sister-In-Law, Nephew, and her brothers best friend. On the way they met a few more people and now had a small group. She slowly grows close the the youngest Dixon brother, Daryl. When they get back from their hunting trip Daryl learns his brother was handcuffed to a roof and left in the city. But what had YN in complete shock and not knowing how to deal with it is the person who did it. Her brother was alive after she already Mourned his death. She blames herself for not double checking to make sure he was really dead or not. Luckily she has a list of rules and guidelines she has been working on as the days of living in a post apocalyptic world with the living dead to keep her busy.
