I walk back to my room and grab my black backpack and remove my phone from its charger. "Coming mom!" I shout and walk to the stairs, the air filled with the scent of bacon. My mother is standing by the stove cooking breakfast and drinking her coffee. When she finishes cooking she brings me a plate and sits down. "Sleep good?" she asks taking another sip. "Yeah, I got a good 3 hours you know," I mumble eating another forkful of eggs. "The usual." She sighs and we finish the rest of breakfast in silence. I look down at my phone and see that it's 5:53. "Shit!" I shout out loud "I'm going to be late!" "Language Marlo." My mom shoots me a glare "Yeah yeah," I roll my eyes "Bye!" I swing my backpack strap over my shoulder and bolt out the door. Once outside I turn right and see a big yellow moving truck, large brown boxes sprawled out along the yard. A boy in a black leather jacket walks to the back of the truck and grabs what looks like a guitar case, the material seems very worn. He turns around and notices me staring. "What," he grins "Like what you see?" He sends a wink my way, stunning me. 'the nerve of this guy, ughh!' I think to myself The boy waves, blows a kiss, then walks back into the house leaving me standing there.
