She was a face Elrond had not seen in many ages. Since the siege of Barad-dur she had been lost to her kind, all that was left were whispers and rumours of her. Now she has been found, injured and brought to Rivendell but her wounds run much deeper than flesh and bone, they have been festering through the ages, tearing at her soul and the light of stars in her eyes has dimmed. He promised his king he would protect her. The lord of Imladris is not one to lightly forsake his promises.

After a failed spider mission, Legolas is left injured beyond what the Greenwood healers can help. Thranduil, worried for his son's Fea, sends him to Imladris for help. But the unit escorting the prince is attacked on the way and Legolas, after barely escaping, then fleas to the most unlikely of places where he hides, refusing to tell anyone of his whereabouts, afraid to go to Imladris, afraid to go home. This story fills in some gaps from The Return and creates a few more that I may delve into in a later fic. It's not just the Dark Lord she has to worry about, with her 'itch' becoming more frequent, and her transformations more painful, she can't hide the truth for long. What will she do when Legolas, a cherished friend, tries to help her? It's a tale of intrigue, curses, death, and love. There will be references and scenes taken directly from the books and the movies along with scenes I've written in entirety. I've tried to edit the book scenes to match how I describe things from each character's perspective so it is a little more flowy. Enjoy!!

Trust begins to diminish, especially when Legolas is attacked by a mysterious warrior. Just days afterwards he is kidnapped and thus begins the search for the missing Prince. It's a race against time to see if they can reach Legolas before his demise and stop the Ghost Warrior's plans, and if not, then to witness the ending of their hope. For without the Greenleaf, there is a piece of the future that will be forever lost and can change it's course for good.
