I'd see it through the window and stand, welcoming the branches as they stabbed right through to my heart."

Their bodies speak in ways words never could, lost in the warmth of each other. But when the rain stops, so does the illusion. The moment shatters when one pulls away, apologizing-revealing that, despite everything they shared, they don't see the protagonist that way.
