"Hello?" Her hands started to shake, looking at the dark figure standing just a few feet from her, covered by the fog, "Dan?" "C?"Claire shrieked, turning around. It was Tex, one of Claire's crew too, "Woah, hey, Daniel said you'd be here, you should get back to the inn, Melissa called." "M-Melissa?" Claire couldn't really focus, her heart was still pounding. She turned around to see the dark figure again, but it wasn't there anymore. She shuddered. It couldn't have been Tex who was standing there, he came in behind her when she saw it. "Sure, yeah. Let's go." Tex went up the ladder first, bringing Claire's things. And just when Claire was about to go up, something deep down made her look back. And there it was. The black figure. Only this time, she could make out the piercing blue eyes that were looking right at her.

Claire's thoughts whirled and her body trembled as she moved down the narrow corridor. Gone was the rhythmic rise of her chest in exchange for shallow gasps of thin dusky air which left her lightheaded. To add to her turmoil unfamiliar voices surrounded her. One misstep could be her undoing, and yet she had no idea why. When Leishmann desires to be ruler over Danyon it becomes an obsessive determination that leaves a trail of death and destruction. In this time of great despair one man rises from the ashes to discover a way to stop Leishmann's ambitions and he pays the ultimate price. To Claire, Danyon was nothing more than a childhood fairy tale until her home is attacked and her brothers are forced to reveal the horrible truth about her past and what is expected of her future. Now she is forced from her peaceful existence to fight her way through Leishmann's army to return to a home wrought with pain and desperately needing a leader. Her greatest devastation; however, does not come from meeting Leishmann face to face, but meeting his son. The moment her their eyes meet she knows that their fates are tangled together in the worst way possible.
