When Shoya Ishida finds out there is a new girl transferring to his school, he realizes that she is different, Her name is Hotaru Takashi. She has a rare condition, she is deaf. Her mother has to have her get hearing aids so that so can hear the teacher. However, Sho bullies her, Along with Naoka Ueno. Nao-chan doesn't like her. When one day, Sho-kun bullies her of taking her hearing aids,and then when he rips it out of her ear,her ear starts bleeding,then the teacher sends Hotaru to the nurse. The teacher feels sorry for her,as not feeling empathetic for Sho-kun. Nao-chan didn't show any empathy. Because she didn't like her,she treated Hotaru differently. Hotaru's mother finds out that Sho bullied her and Sho's mother took some money out of her bank account for Hotaru's mother. Hotaru doesn't go back to school. It is now 10 years later,and Sho is grown up and he has been alone ever since the incident with Hotaru. He starts having dreams and nightmares,of recurring dreams he keeps having, Miki is in the same class as him,and he always gets ignored in class of because what he did in elementary school. Everyone felt sorry for Hotaru. Sho-kun never spoke up for what happened to Hotaru. Hotaru is always at the senior center,visiting others. As her little sister is always there for her. At first her little sister doesn't like Sho,then after a while, She starts liking him,as a friend.  Hotaru's little sister Nanami, is always there to protect her. 

Sho becomes friends with a guy named; Tomohiro Nagatsuka. As the story goes on, Sho realizes that everyone dislikes him because of what happened to Hotaru back in elementary school. Miki starts talking to Sho again and Sho started getting romantic feelings for Hotaru. He realizes that he hurt her really bad.

The reason why he keeps getting bullied at school is because of the accident of Hotaru Takashi. He goes to say sorry to her, but Hotaru's mother doesn't let him in.All Rights Reserved
