Test day. The day we knew was coming and had been dreading the most. Today is the end of what we have known and the beginning of the unknown. We will be tested, graded, and shipped off to where our tests assign us. There is no freedom of choice, no independence, and nothing to look forward to. All of us have been together since the beginning and can remember the good ol' days of playing outside, dressing how we wanted, and being free to be who we were and wanted to be without having to worry about getting shot because of it. What I remember most is going to the library and having the ability to choose whatever book we wanted to and in those days there were too many books to choose from. Those days are long gone. The ruling government now makes all our choices for us. The freedom of everything was taken away along with all of our rights, until today. We are ready to fight back and take control of our country for our generation and those that follow. We may be 14 years old, but we have a mission and that mission is to fight for and regain the freedoms that were lost. Today is the beginning of the unknown.

A thrilling book as a disease has spread that has sent the earth into distress and sent only the richest individuals to live in the gated city as everyone else is left outside the walls to starve and fight for survival. Compelling characters with a lack of trust therefore plenty of battles both internally and physically.

I am not from this planet. Hell, I am technically not from this galaxy. However, that doesn't change the fact I am here now, and my job is to save what I can on this forsaken planet and what's left of its inhabitants. The problem is that not everyone wants to be saved. I know what you're thinking. You can't save those who don't want to be saved. I bloody well agree. The ones who sent me don't care what you or I think, though. All they care about is numbers. They need a certain success rate to continue to get funding for their "expeditions" and "peacekeeping" efforts. I use both terms loosely here. However, that's what they put on their records, and it's what sounds good and looks suitable to their investors. So this is the way it's going to be. So be it! Oh, did I forget to mention the Universe decided I was the lucky girl to help find the one person who could save us all from self-destruction? Yea, that is a shitty idea, but once again, no one cares what I think.

Being different biracial was hard enough in this time and age. Try being a half-breed. Ya, that's right. I said it. Half breed. Half human and half alien. I won't go into how I was made, but I can say that I wasn't able to fit in either world. Sure, I had lived in a place counted as home, but I didn't belong. I wasn't like them. I was their weapon, something that could protect the world from the alien race that tried to destroy them. Would I choose to live with the people that I had grown up with and be a weapon? Or would I choose to be the prisoner because of what my parents did? I mean, I didn't ask to be born, but I was made. And, I chose to protect the world that was trying to be taken over. My life is definitely not easy. There are times when things are good but life is never easy. This is my story... **** A/N: Not actually about me, this is not a real book and definitely not about me.
