"Maxie, why'd your dad try to hide you from me?" Axel asks as he cuddles Maxine on the couch and softly kisses her fresh mark. She smiled and shrugged. Unsure of what her dad wanted by that. She'd only be in pain if she was kept from her mate. She'd felt the bond before, but it was so much stronger now.
"I- he- uh- oh Gosh Axel I don't know! " She held the back of his head and brought him up to her for another kiss.
"The very moment I saw you at that coffee shop, I knew we'd be together no matter what. As I told your father: 'Don't worry old man, I'll find her.' And I found you."

So when Axel Black comes into the picture from the Lycan Dusk pack and shows signs of being Maxine's mate, her father does everything he can to hide her. But remember, mates always find each other.
