Moon Cured
A post apocalyptic shifter series that includes fated mates. ___________________________________________________ Seventeen years ago, one irresponsible scientist accidentally created poison that works like a highly contagious virus when trying to create a weapon. Unfortunately, there are no symptoms, you only know you have it when all the bones in your neck break and your head falls off and your body then collapses to the ground and crumbles into dust floats away with the non-existent wind. It wiped out a little over half the human population of the earth. So now we all live in small towns with many restrictions and laws to make sure nobody in the town gets poisoned or by yourself to scavenge and hunt for food. I chose the latter for me and my family. I am Alcmene Argent, and this is my story. ___________________________________________________ None of these pictures are mine, full rights to their creators.Complete
A Different Virus - Laura's Story
This is a second view point from my original story - A Different Virus - Heartfire. I highly advise reading the original book first. Intro: Laura was a happy child without a care in the world. She loved her parents and life was perfect. Nothing seemed like it could go wrong. People started talking about a bad flu that was spreading and sending some into a coma. Her parents grew worried and stocked the house in case of a pandemic. Months later another virus appeared. Her family was shocked when the news people started reporting that zombies were actually real and not just part of a horror movie. They were appearing in every country. Her parents reassured her that none of the zombie sightings had been anywhere close to them. Her life is turned upside down when her father ends up in hospital with the bad flu and mother exiles her upstairs for her safety. She was never allowed downstairs again. Weeks pass and the streets become deserted with the exception of the red eyed zombies that wandered around. One night she notices a swiftly moving figure with glowing blue eyes in the street below. Should she call out or remain silent? Is this fleeting shadow something that can help her or could this mysterious figure be even more dangerous than the zombies themselves? ---------------------- Ranked #1 Apr 10, 2018 (A huge thank you to all who read and voted!) This story is copyright and built from my own imagination. This book was a special request from someone who helped me a lot. This viewpoint has less action than the original. Night Disease
REVISED EDITION COMING OUT MONTHLY/COMPLETED In a world overrun by zombies, A single bite heralds doom, except for Kaindra, who defies death itself, being undead already. ******** As humanity struggles to adapt to the new reality of zombie-infested streets and lurking supernatural creatures from ancient myths and legends, survival becomes an ever-evolving challenge. Survival is a constant battle not only against the undead but also against supernatural creatures and their zealous followers. The relentless onslaught of zombies and the mysterious reemergence of mythical beings push society to its limits. Civilization's last bastions fall one by one, teetering on the brink of collapse. As these ancient myths awaken, they reveal intentions that are far from clear- some may hold the key to salvation, while others could herald further doom. The question remains: Can humanity unravel the mysteries of these legendary beings in time to save themselves, or will they fall prey to the very legends they once dismissed? ___ Excerpt: Taking a deep breath, I lean closer to the mirror, my skin prickling. I thought it was a trick of the light, but as I stare at my reflection, my fragile lies crumble away. The reflection staring back at me feels unrecognizable. My once deep, dark brown eyes now glimmer with an otherworldly light, like twin moons suspended in a sea of silver. The faint glow within them swirls softly, catching the dim flicker of flame I summoned, like ripples across a moonlit lake. Their alien intensity sends a chill down my spine. The orbs seemed to hold a universe within, depths of endless mysteries and ancient wisdom beyond my grasp. ___ Warning: Mentions of suicide and self-harm Beautiful cover made by @scmimi. Restless
The end of mankind has finally come, in the least spectacular way. When pen-pals Neri, a Canadian, and Eleni, an American, finally meet each other in the flesh for the first time, they believe it's the happiest day of their lives. That is, until planes fall from the sky, a virus spreads like wildfire, and mushroom clouds of flame fill the sky. Why? Because of one thing the media never released: the DED virus. Similar to other zombie-like infections, DED does three things: infect, reawaken, and devour the living. After learning of possibly the only safe place on the continent, Florida and all other states and countries become overridden by the Restless and insignificant to survivors. Eleni and Neri are going to embark on a daring trek all the way from Florida back to the Canadian border, where the remainder of the survivors have relocated. Will they be able to make it alive, or will they both die trying? ©2013 by E. Barnes.Complete
