The Deal
Colton Thomas is the first and only openly queer player in the League and he is far from being considered a role model. Unapologetically brash and strapped with a hair-trigger temper, some days it feels like he's only made it this far off his best friend Olli's golden boy reputation. But when Olli is traded to another team in return for Colton's biggest rival, Kyle Bargelletti, Colton's confidence and reputation take a hit. And his temper? It was as if Kyle's only objective was to see him lose his cool. And if that wasn't bad enough, his coaches insist that Kyle move in with him. If Colton can't keep it together enough to make his coaches happy, more than his first line spot on the team could be put at risk... Kyle Bargelletti has made a career off being able to read his opponents. That's what a good defence does after all, ensures that no one makes it to the net. For some reason, he had always been able to read Colton Thomas the best. All that speed and abrasiveness was a front, and Kyle can see right through it. But Kyle has a front of his own. His queerness has been under wraps for a number of reasons, and on the doorstep of turning 30, he has regrets about how little he's allowed himself to live. But after almost being outed by his last team, Kyle was so close to hiding himself away again. That was, until Colton proposes a deal of sorts. Sex. For Colton, an outlet. For Kyle, an exploration. No feelings, no attachments, just until Kyle manages to get a contract extension and Colton finds his footing again. What's the worst that could happen?

Tightrope
Becca and Will were once best friends. From immediately clicking at the school bus stop at five-years-old, to bonding over their love for hockey and future ambitions, it was always Becca and Will. Will and Becca. Even as they navigated the toughest parts of their lives, they could always count on each other. Becca had met Will when she had needed him the most, and Becca stood by Will through the times he could barely keep it together with everything going on at home. Nevertheless, as inseparable as they were, Becca one day simply disappeared. She left without explaining or even saying goodbye, and Will never heard from her again. That is, until eleven years later, she showed up at his team's arena, where he was the star player for the Chicago Whispers, claiming she was the new team publicist. Eleven years of silence made Will want nothing to do with her, but still, she pushed and held onto their lingering love for each other, determined to explain everything and get back in his life, even if it means walking the tightrope that hangs between their past life and the present. Still, as time passes and life stories are exchanged, Becca and Will might just realize that they aren't meant to be best friends this time around. Hunter acts like your stereo typical hockey boy. He's on the road to making it to the NHL but his father's not making it too easy for him. But then again he's Mr Perfect. She has been working on making it to the Olympics since as far back as she could remember. It's been her dream since she could remember but sometimes dreams change especially after life changing events. Sometimes I catch myself wondering how I ended up juggling early morning swim practices, a full course load, and the whirlwind of campus life-all while carrying the weight of expectations from a dad who once dominated professional hockey and a mom who's a force in the fashion world. Maybe that's why I'm so good at keeping my guard up, hiding behind perfect times in the pool and a quick, practiced wit. I first crossed paths with Cam Reid after being dragged to a party the night I moved into my freshman dorm. He was everything the rumors promised: a hockey phenom with a magnetic pull and a reputation for effortless charm, especially with the ladies. But after a horrible pick-up attempt, I did what the rest of the girls at the party would deem unthinkable-I turned him down, making it clear I wasn't interested in being just another story for him. But instead of turning away, Cam proved himself to be more than a headline or a rumor. We built something real-a steady, solid, and surprisingly uncomplicated friendship. But that's the thing about lines drawn in friendships-they're not always as permanent as you think. One night, everything changed, and the laughter and late-night talks began to blur into something I couldn't quite define, and suddenly, every instinct to keep things platonic began to feel impossible to follow.
