Lost from within

Fourteen year old Hiccup Regen is grieving the loss of his siblings, Otto and Nova after a fatal car accident leaves them dead and Hiccup traumatized two years prior. He hasn't fully grown accustomed to the rather large apartment bedroom he now has to himself. He attends North Pacific High school with his best friend, Dom. She too, has a bit of a rough past. As a child, she and her brother, Makoto were abandoned by their mother. Their now, adoptive father, Shiro took them in and years later, shortly before Dom's thirteenth birthday, Makoto vanishes. Ever since she had been conducting experiments and theories trying to find him up to present day where she is fifteen. Then, one day, something goes terribly wrong in their hometown in Louisiana that changes and ruins everything.

A hurricane strikes, wrecking and destroying all of Dom's research. Hiccup's years of artwork perished and shrivled. The pair were drifted away from each other and their home town. Dom has always been considered unrealistically intelligent for her age and she should have no trouble finding her way home with all her contraptions she keeps at hand. Hiccup, on the other hand, might have some trouble. Sure, he's smart enough but, it seems impossible to do it alone. And he meets a friend on the long journey home, whom he has lots in common with. The two will be faced with many challenges along the way. Will they make it home or will they be forced to live and fend for themselves?
