It's been eight years since the Soleanna incident and those who had been present to the End of the World have moved on, only able to hope that the future is in a better place. One day, a problem arises in Westopolis and when Shadow and Rouge arrive to investigate, they come across someone who is meant to be dead. With the new arrival more problems begin to arise, a mysterious creature is reported to be roaming the streets, and something about this newly-not dead-person isn't quite right. Can they figure out what's going on or will the growing enemy strike first?

The Sonic gang is going on a trip to another place called Sycora City, a 2 day trip from Green Hills. Shadow is driving because why not. Sonic is next to him in the passenger seat, bugging Shadow while he drives. Amy is with Sticks, trying to teach her how to act more ladylike and to stop being paranoid. Silver and Blaze and snoozing in the middle seats of the van next to Amy and Sticks. Knuckles and Rouge are sitting in the back. Rouge is teasing Knuckles and Knuckles is annoyed, looking out the window and trying to ignore her. Shadow-rin and Tails are sitting next to them. Tails is sitting next to the window and sleeping. Shadow-rin is sitting next to him and has her headphones in, drawing in her sketchbook. Their road trip was meant to be a fun and enjoyable time to just hang out. But on the first night, they stop to stay over in a hotel in a secluded area. The place was practically empty, and they were the only people there apart from the owner, an old man. The place was dark and old, but the room they booked was more better kept, minus the dust. At night, Shadow-rin and Tails hear something, making them look around the dark halls in the middle of the night to investigate. The owner is hiding something, but they don't know what. And they don't want to find out. In this AU, Shadow, as a baby, is sent to Earth with Maria and the Professor coming with him, though they land on the African Jungle. But just as they were waiting for rescue, a NOT friendly leopard attacks the Professor, and then Maria, who trusts a troop of gorillas to take care of Shadow. As the years go by, Shadow became a strong (and handsome) young hedgehog who knows his way through the Jungle as a wild hedgehog. One day, a group of humans, led by Rouge the Bat, comes to the Island and takes Shadow with them to New York, where he meets Sonic, an energetic and mean but insecure blue hedgehog who's popular in the High School he's enrolled in. Though Shadow will later learn that Sonic is being targetted by his ex, Scourge the hedgehog, for a sin he committed long ago.
