It isn't the same for Lyria Ackles in fact it's the opposite, she wished she could get rid of her 'ability.'
Anyone with a ability is considered a threat by 'The Faculty' and are being hunted down. In a world where people are judged for being different and hunted down like criminals (Which some of them might be) is where this story takes place.
