Bridget Sheehan has three major problems. 1. She is a vampire, and has no idea how it happened. 2. Someone is trying to kill her (most likely witches) 3. The handsome vampire who offered her sanctuary wants to... date her? After waking up in the middle of nowhere with partial amnesia, Bridget is whisked away to a mansion full of other vampires. But being the new girl is the least of her problems. Someone is trying to kill her and she has no idea why, the others in the mansion stare at her like they've seen a ghost, and the incredibly handsome and sweet vampire who has offered to protect her is far more virtuous than she had expected. Bridget must learn to hone her new abilities and trust those around her if she plans to defeat those who wish her harm. Because if she can't, her life (and the lives of every supernatural being on earth) will be at stake. --------------------- This story is complete, but I'm working on the first major edit chapter by chapter. *previously titled "Who Wants to Live Forever?" --------------------- 🥈2nd Place Winner of Ace Awards Supreme - Vampire/Werewolf 🥉3rd Place Winner of The Creative Awards - Vampire/WerewolfComplete
WitchHunter ✔️
A WitchHunter with a glorious destiny. An assassin desperate for freedom. A stable boy with a dangerous secret. A friend with a hidden family. A brother who craves vengeance. ~~~ The deceit is this: The Hunter has a Lochri daughter. The stable boy has a secret curse. The WitchMaster isn't what he appears. No one knows how or why the Lochri came into being. Some believe it was the work of gods. Others, many, many others, believe they are spawned from something much darker. WitchHunters, employed at Hunter's guilds, live their lives in search of these monsters, these unnatural beings who dare to question the order we have kept in place for centuries. I do not hold the title of WitchHunter, however, for I am something far more sinister. I am Alice, the Demon Raven of Kindleridge, and I'm their Ace. ~~~ They call her the Ace, the assassin owned by Velius Dag, highest ranking WitchMaster in the Kingdom. For six years, the Ace has lived mostly unbothered, but all that will change when Hale Arsen, Velius's adopted son, returns to the Ridge, and the Ace is assigned to protect him, as he will one day become the future WitchMaster. Tensions rise as the two clashing personalities come together time after time in feud, but with the Lochri problem growing ever stronger, and secrets begin to unravel themselves, these two opposing forces will have to realize that working together may be the only way to keep the world from figuring out the truth that could spell disaster for them all. What happens when you realize you might be the bad guy?Complete

Veil of Thorns ( Book 1 )
In a world split between light and shadow, humans live unaware of the Veil-a barrier that separates their world from one ruled by the Fae. For centuries, the Veil has held strong. But when Kaelin Duskthorn, heir to the Shadow Court, crosses it on a rogue mission to reclaim stolen fae magic, he doesn't expect a mere human to stand in his way. Arwen Vale, a half-human, half-fae raised in secret, unknowingly holds the key to a relic that could destroy both courts and collapse the Veil. She's sarcastic, guarded, and lives by rules she's made to survive the human world. Kaelin is cruel, calculating, and bound by a prophecy that claims his downfall will come from "a girl with blood between stars." Their paths cross violently-literally. Kaelin tries to kill her; she stabs him with a knife enchanted by his enemies. But their connection only deepens as fate, betrayal, and hidden desires begin to unravel the truth: they are bound by a forbidden soul-thread. As tensions rise between the Light and Shadow Courts, Arwen and Kaelin must navigate a war they didn't start, secrets they weren't meant to know, and an attraction that could ruin them both. Enemies by blood. Lovers by curse. And only one can survive the breaking of the Veil.Complete

Fairy Crosses
Entry for the Open Novella Contest, 2024 Prompt #36: "Fairy tales are real," and there couldn't be anything worse. After the death of her husband, Charlotte seeks a fresh start in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Georgia. She wants to do two things: work her mundane job and spend the evenings at her cabin talking to her husband's ghost. All her hopes and dreams stayed behind in Atlanta. Now, she just wants a quiet place to live alone. Right when she settles into mountain life, she finds a quarter-sized stone outside her door with a black cross etched in its center. She brings it to a library where she learns about the fairies that left it there for her. Her research leads her to an ancient Cherokee hunting trail where winged, fairy-like creatures dance among blue ghost fireflies and sleep in the branches of oak trees centuries old. Charlotte is sure that her discovery is nothing more than a vivid dream. But as her obsession with Appalachian fairy tales grows, she only finds more fairy crosses outside her door, along with startling evidence that the Faye still roam the ancient mountain valleys. This is a story about magic and age-old legends, but even more about how obsession can offer relief from difficult circumstances, although at the price of true healing. Tensions became high and fights broke out in the unstable supernatural world with the return of Lucifer's son: Killian after more than four centuries. Her visions started again. And a bit too many supernatural males were willing to protect her for no reason whatsoever. Turns out, Cara might not be as insignificant as she thought. Yet, she was undoubtedly human. The Last Phoenix (book 1)
Ren is a quiet teen in a small New Zealand town. He just wants to finish school, avoid the local bullies and maybe tell his best friend how he feels. But one blistering summer day he bursts into flames and emerges as the Sun God's champion: a radiant, female warrior. For generations, the Phoenix's power has passed through the women of his family, so his grandmother is as shocked as he is when it chooses a boy. As Ren struggles to control fire, wings and teleportation, strange phenomena - frozen lakes in summer, earthquakes that seem to think - signal that the world is unraveling. Ancient enemies known as the Shadows of the Eclipse feed on chaos and are awakening. Torn between hiding in his hoodie and facing a destiny he never wanted, Ren must decide who he is, what he will fight for and whether to trust the boy who's always been by his side. This isn't a fairytale. It's messy, queer, and sometimes heartbreaking. But if you're into mythic fantasy with real feelings, and a protagonist who literally sets himself on fire to save the world, jump in. The world's last Phoenix is a boy, and he's just getting started.Complete
