The arrow struck him right between his ribs-an instant kill.
No one dared speak-no one dared move.
For it was expected-they weren't going to sit quiet for so long. Not after what they pulled-what he pulled.
Jake weaved his way to the center, Megan didn't even try to stop him.
His eyes glistened with tears that dare not fall as he gingerly picked up the stained piece of paper attached to the arrow.
They all watched silently as his eyes shakily skidded across the paper.
Clenching his jaw, he looked up crumbling the paper in his fist.
Everyone clutched their weapons as he uttered his next words,

" They want a fight. Let's give them a battle."
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Jake Miller just wanted the nightmares to stop. He didn't plan on being a centre target of some century long war- but that's what he gets for entering those damned woods.
And now he's gotten Megan dragged in. If only he'd listen to those warnings-oh well, it's too late for him now.
