In the utopian (or so it seems) city of Oak Ridge, hundreds of children are born every year, in a large building called The Facility. Only twenty-five of those children are selected. The 'unsatisfactory' children are cared for by The Facility's workers, where they will become workers themselves, to create new generations of children. The lucky twenty-five will be taken away, and sent to civilian families in Oak Ridge. The babies are chosen only if they are deemed 'perfect.' They are chosen by their qualities of health, quietness, and their ability to learn quickly. The babies will be taught, and raised by their new families. When they are old enough, they will recieve children, and have families of their own.
Em is one of those twenty-five. She was the last-born baby of her year. And she will rebel. She will change their world forever.
Elliot Jensen and Elliot Fintry have a lot in common. They share the same name, the same house, the same school, oh and they hate each other but, as they will quickly learn, there is a fine line between love and hate.
