His head sunk and he swallowed. The strong demeanor and appearance that he had always put on in front of the rest was gone. It was purely him. 

"It's hurting both of us. Why don't we just --", It felt like a knife stabbing deeper into my heart with every word.

He placed his thumb against my lips. Then he gently carressed my cheek, "Don't say it." It was a whisper, a helpless and vulnerable whisper. 

A tear slipped from my eye, and I pulled him into my embrace.

The busy noises of the street and the honking of the traffic fade as I lose focus, nothing strong enough to force my attention away from this boy. Finally, Archer loudly clears his throat as he flings his door open and plops into the car with a huff, breaking the trance between the two of us. I look away as I withdraw my hand from his grasp, trying to figure out what the hell just happened. This is going to be a long 6 months. ●●● Kaiydeen has always known what she wanted, more like who, but she never knew exactly how to get it. So she's complacent with biding her time until it, actually he, comes to her; no matter how long that takes. But then one day she crashes into someone she doesn't expect. Someone that has always had an eye for her, and he isn't satisfied with biding his time until she's his. But when the one person she's always wanted admits he wants her, too, she's forced to make a choice. Should she go for the boy she just met or the boy she's always known? There is some use of mature language in this story, so if your eyes are innocent and you want them to stay that way this might not be the story for you. Credit to @slueths for the incredible cover!!

"Look at me," he whispered, but I was too frightened to turn around. When I felt his hand on my shoulder, I flinched. "Please just look at me, Salma," he says, gently turning me to face him. I look at him. His eyes are red from lack of sleep, and his once curly hair now resembles a bird's nest. "I'm the guy you warn your kids about while trying not to cry," he says, and I furrow my brows in confusion. "What are you talking about, Caleb?" I ask, and he shakes his head. "I'm the man every other man despises because he must demonstrate daily that he's not me. I wish I could apologize for that, but I can't; it's who I am, and I've made that clear to you," he declares. Tears well up in my eyes, but I refuse to let them fall, so I clench my jaw instead. 'That's just an excuse because you're scared, I'm looking at you Caleb and I can see the fear, it's okay to be scared but what's not okay is trying to act like some sort of sick villain who turned hero just to make me fall in love with you' I say while breathing heavily and he looks away from me. I take a step closer to him but he towers over me. ' You didn't deceive me or trick me, I knew who you were the moment I saw you' I say shoving him and he grabs both my wrist. 'And who am I Salma? you seem to know everything so please tell me.' he says in a deadly whisper which sends chills down my spine and I stay quiet looking up at him. 'I'll tell you then, I'm the guy who saw an insecure, broken girl who wanted an escape. A girl who couldn't get over the death of her sister and sabotaged her entire life because of that. A girl who wants pity from everyone, A girl who wants a free pass, A girl who-' he doesn't get to finish his sentence because I slap him hard across the face with tears falling down my face. I take a step back looking at him and he turns to look at me with a shocked expression. 'You forgot to say I'm the girl you fell in love with' I say to him before walking away.

There, laying broken on the floor, as the other girls watched, she was whipped. Slowly, she felt her skin breaking in time with her heart and her will.

The wail of sirens echoed throughout the hospital as the emergency room doors burst open. Two individuals were being carted in while another gurney was carrying someone draped in a white cloth. It was too late for them. I could just barely hear what the paramedics were yelling to the doctors as they rushed to the operating room. "Car crash. Must have lost control. Both middle aged men. Both are in critical condition. There was a third passenger, but she was gone before we got to them." A louder sob ripped through my chest, my entire body shuddering from the force of it. Tears began streaming down my face faster than I could wipe them off. I wrapped my fingers around my ears the same way I did that night, silently begging the memories to go away. Before I knew it, I was rocking back and forth. "It's all my fault I should've died Should still be here All my fault Should be dead Take me Suffering Can't take it Find your happy place Find your happy place Find your happy place." My body was wracking with sobs. I wanted to stop it but I couldn't. I wasn't strong enough.
