DINA POLINA MA'ASHOUQ HAS EVERYTHING. Her name was known by everybody, Dina. She was the girls' team basketball captain and Ravenwood High's star. There wasn't a single person at school that didn't like her; she was funny, smart, and beautiful. What was there not to like? DINA POLINA MA'ASHOUQ MAKES A DECISION. In the summer of her sophomore year, right before school starts she makes a decision; to wear the hijab. She didn't think much of it before, but a lot of things happened, and she couldn't resist finally doing it. She'd bought the fabrics in a variety of colors and patterns, ready to embrace her new self. She was ready, but was the rest of Ravenwood High ready? DINA POLINA MA'ASHOUQ LOSES EVERYTHING. Everybody knew she was Muslim, but they didn't know she was that type of Muslim. The type to practice. On her first day back in junior year, everything changes. Most of the people that used to talk to her were silent, some teachers she used to love changed and the threats she's been receiving turn deadly. As the pressure rises to undo her decision, one question remains; Can Dina withstand the pressure? Coming soon summer 2020.

What happens when you move from your big, diverse, and colourful city, where you feel like you belong in The Big Apple to a small, uncultured town in New Jersey? Alaa Osman, a smart and sassy 15 year old is starting out at her new High school, and she's one of the only Sudanese Muslim girls; and add Hijabi into the mix. Join Alaa as she navigates her journey of faith, family life, a confusing and massive crush, friendships, and being the black sheep at her High school. ------------------------------ He mumbles, and all I hear is, "You're right. I don't want to,". Don't want to what? Don't want to lose me to somebody else? Don't want to say goodbye to me? Don't want to regret not saying the last goodbye? A million questions raced my mind. He stepped out of the car. I'd never seen him look so devastated. I thought this was an apology, but it wasn't; it was goodbye. "Hey," I waved slightly and even made a point to smile a little bit, the type of wave and smile we sent each other across the hall. He sent one right back. That's it, maybe things would be better between us. But when his smile faded, I knew they wouldn't. Now mind you, he wasn't usually the type to hold grudges. But this was different, I guess. "Well I guess this is the end." He shrugs.
