Fawn is shy and the quietest girl anyone knows. She is 15, and it is time for her to get her partner animal. When something unexpected happens, she is banished from her village for her own good and is left to rot in the forest. She soon learns she is not so ordinary and is destined to find out more about the world than anyone from her village before her.
