Zion is content with being powerless. While his friends and peers live among the normalities of life controlling water and phasing through walls, Zion remains painfully abnormal in a world of powerful, gifted people. He had accepted that his life was destined to begin and end in a bitter haze of unfortunate events.
That is, until Zion is presented with the option to attend a rehabilitation center in hopes to meet people like himself, people born without powers, and maybe even find out why his powers had never appeared. With exceedingly low expectations, he agrees to spend a year at Heartstone Hospital: A Sanctuary for the Sick and Powerless. There, he meets the four people that will flip his life upside down and change his perspective on what normal really means.
