A Fate Story by Mattrex4554

Lengthiest story I've written so far. I started it in May 2018 as a simple passion project from when I was just getting into the Fate/stay night storyline. My favourite character by far was Sakura Matou, and by extension my favourite route of the visual novel was Heaven's Feel. This story was more of an experiment than anything, to play around with some of the characters I was interested in. It contains evidence of my curiosity and status as a newcomer to the series, but given its length and how long it took me to complete it I would like to put it out there anyway. Its events are placed within the first few days of Heaven's Feel, although I took a few creative liberties here and there. I only hope fellow Fate fans can find this narrative of mine and enjoy it.

An orphan who lost her family to a terrible epidemic. The young King was the only one who survived the assassination attempt on the royal family from years ago. She was raised in a temple dedicated to the demon everyone fears. One day a new decree comes out ordering every village and city to send their most beautiful woman to the palace, the inhabitants decide on a radical decision and the young priestess is handed over to the king. However, there is a problem... She genuinely hates the King and He is fascinated by her. What if the woman is against it and will do anything to get revenge for the people he despises so much? What if the demon who cared for her since she was a child helped her? What if sending the girl to the palace wasn't the only time she was sacrificed by the villagers? Will the priestess of the hated demon be able to live the life she always wanted?

" You are here because of what you pleaded for," the voice said. "Your second chance." "My second chance?" "Yes, but you have to risk something." the voice said in a serous tone. " Your memory." "My memory?" said Sakura worriedly. She greatly cherished her memories, especially the fun times she had with her friends. " Yes, that will be the only sacrifice to get your second chance," replied the voice. Sakura was determined to get a second chance. " Alright, I accept." "Your second chance is granted." Then, another blinding light came to Sakura. Her recent memories were erased. Her second chance has become a reality . Will she be truly be happen this time? Meanwhile, Father Kirei Kotomine (former Inquisitor and mage-killer for the Holy Church, and now official overseer for the Holy Grail Wars) initially became intrigued with her until he decided that he should put her qualities to the test, while the recently incarnated heroic spirit of legend, Gilgamesh, lends him a hand. An AU set somewhere between Unlimited Blade Works and Heaven's Feel routes where Sakura develops an unlikely and disturbing friendship with both men; and where she started taking herself apart, and discovered another way for her to be whole again.
