Lyric Haney is hiking across America.
Well, that's the plan. She has to write a dozen proposals for sponsors first, convince her parents that she's not crazy, and learn how to escape from possible bear encounters. Taking a gap year from college is easy enough for a creative writing major, and since her blog has already taken off Lyric's just pretending that it counts as homework.
Her adventure quickly attracts newspapers and magazines, even getting the attention of Oliver Burch, a film student whose father is a producer. Suddenly Lyric not only has to navigate a path across the country, but also the complex world of reality television. Traveling with a small camera crew has its perks-Oliver for one-but Lyric's not sure if it's what she really wants.
Now a lot more than adventure is riding on her completing the journey. The cameras are on, people are watching, and failure is not an option.
