An updated version of my (unfinished) story, The Wild Ones, inspired by BVB's Wretched and Divine.
A land, torn apart by war. A government, oppressing their people. A resistance, fighting for their freedom. And the girl who may be the key to saving them all.
(You do not have to read the original to understand this. It is not in any way a sequel. The original will remain unfinished, as I will be updating this version instead.)

(Temporary Cover) NIGHTMARE has everything he could ever want- power, godhood, a bloodline, total control, and a partner who worships his every step. He had a few inconveniences along the way, but he could handle them with ease. His focus is now on raising his daughter and taking care of his wife and team. Despite being much more relaxed, he's still willing CORE FRISK is the only surviving hero. The Star Sanses and even Error are either dead, infected, or brainwashed. The cursed gold heart locket he always wore, that he hated, yet couldn't find the heart to get rid of. It gave him the motivation to fight back, so did the corruption in his soul and his smoking addiction slowly killing him.

"You will do something extraordinary - You will save humanity." ~☆ When the land was barren and empty, 4 deities known as the Divines ruled the earth. Healing, tranquillity, strength, and justice. And though they ruled with prosperity and protection, humans soon discovered they had free will, and their greed grew heavy. And so, the Divines were slaughtered and hunted for their power. The greed of the humans disgusted the Incubator, the creator of everything. So, they created a new being to take over, freedom. He revived the Divines and granted a new era of peace and prosperity upon the land. But every good thing has its evil, chaos. The Incubator made sure it couldn't do anything to their creations, so they sent it to an eternal prison where it could do no harm to humanity. And now, every few years, the Incubator selects a human to prove humanities worth to venture into the earth's core and eliminate the Harbinger of Chaos from all of its evil. Yet, the chosen ones failed. Until now. Their names are Mark and Bob.

You ever have a dream? Everyone has dreams. I mean a dream like wanting to be an astronaut or president or that such. I have a dream like that; I want to take over the world and cast humanity into an eternal darkness, with me as its cruel emperor. I've worked hard to achieve this dream too. I've practiced vile magics. I've honed my alchemy. I've amassed an army of demons, mutants, and cultists. Hell, I even worship a vile god to boot. Do you have that sort of dedication to your dreams? The mundane replaced by ethereal artificial intelligence, spontaneous virtual realities, and homicidal bible salesmen. But the creator promises the demon's voice will disappear as soon as he finds the right girl, the right bond. After that, they just have to escape the clutches of those who hunt them, find the Isle of Song, and free the creator from her prison. Or maybe this time, in this life, Jack will figure out what true freedom is.
