"Six years of living together," she sniffed. "One would think we'd know each other in all this time."

"I know you," I whispered. My eyes were begging her not to leave.

"No. You THINK you do, Nadir."

That was the last thing she said before she was gone, with my wailing children in tow.

___

Nadir may not say it often, but he couldn't really live without Zaeb. But then again, there are a hundred unspoken promises and silent conversations between couples who have been married for as long as they had been.

Only when her charming - and significantly loaded - childhood best friend entered their lives did Nadir realise that he should start saying some of them out loud.

...But maybe it was too late.

"...Don't show that you cared about my happiness, when you actually didn't. I doubt if you ever truly did care." I whispered the last part menacingly at him, clenching my jaw as my eyes filled with tears. The way his face hardened and his eyes dilated, I assumed he heard me as a muscle in his jaw ticked. I lowered my pointing finger and wiped my tears furiously from the back of my hand, looking away. "It's good that you got to know about everything before this marriage facade got out of our hands. Now, you'll realize that you never had any feelings for me and it was just an infatuation." He scoffed, looking away. His adam's apple bobbed as his veins popped out lividly. "Don't you dare insult my love, Wali! My love for you was so pure. You know what? You don't even deserve it." I told him, swallowing the lump in my throat. My voice came out harsh as my breath grew thin and ragged. I tried to control myself, reminding there were people in this house. Ya Allah, who was this man standing in front of me? ----- Meet Wali Rehman Khan and Aleyha Shaikh. They both grew up together, they were cousins by fate but best friends by choice. "Mum, you can't leave me... how could you?" A gasp escaped her lips. Her mother had been the only one by her side-and now she was gone too. There was nothing she could do. It was destiny, written by the Almighty Allah. Now, she was all alone. No one to support her. No one to care. No one to gently caress her soul. The one person she thought would care-Zidan Sheikh-was nowhere to be found. She was left by herself in her vast, empty mansion. Zoha Siddiqui, 22, single-one of the youngest owners of a top-ranking business. Life had left her bitter. A natural introvert, she let very few people in. Only Aunt Farah, her mother's best friend, made efforts to stay in touch-always checking in on her friend's daughter. And whenever depression gripped her heart, her mother's words would echo back, like a healing balm: "Have faith in Allah, for He is the best of planners." ⸻ On the other hand... Syed Amaan-one of the biggest names in the business world-had everything a person could wish for. Yet beneath the success, he carried a gentle, caring heart. He understood what it meant to have true faith in Allah. But then again-no one is perfect. "Amaan, I want you to marry," his mother said softly, stroking his hair. "You're a grown man now-and your deen remains incomplete. A spouse completes half your faith." This time, she wasn't joking. And he knew it. He sighed, stood up, and replied: "Go on, Mom... maybe I'm ready now." ⸻ But what happens when someone wants Zoha-not for love, not for faith-but for all the wrong reasons? "I need you for one night," he said, sending shivers through her body. She felt sickened. Disgusted. Her faithful soul recoiled at the thought. A halal couple trying to protect their pure love from haram intentions. Their journey is more than just romance-it's about faith, resilience, and destiny. Note: This story isn't just for Muslims. Everyone is heartily welcome to read and connect with the soul of Amaan and Zoha's journey.
