YOU are the main character in this love story. you're in your twenties, you didn't have the chance to pursue higher education and you come from a family with little money. You often/always work the night shift because it's what you prefer. You have a best friend who is like a sister to you. You're very close, you tell each other everything, there's no judgment between you two, no unspoken words. You are single and not looking fo love, as you just broke up months ago. You had been together for three years and he left you because he didn't want to "live a poor life" , as he put it. The truth is, he had met another woman, older and much wealthier than you. You still live with your parents to help them but also because your salary doesn't currently allow you to rent an apartment. You're saving money to ensure you can at least pay a few months of rent.
