Writing in Layers

The usual writing guides you see are all about writing your story and then cutting it to size during editing.
That is not the way I work.

I begin with a basic bare bones story and add to it in several layers of editing, focusing on a specific aspect of writing like descriptions, dialogue.

Because there's no writing guide which talks about this method of writing and editing, I made my own to explain it and help others who are struggling with writing their story in the first place.
