'...The first thing I notice about him is his weight. The rumours are true: he is spoilt and fat, so different from the young Renaissance prince I have heard he once was. His padded garments only make him look swollen and stout, not stronger. His red hair is thinning and tinged grey, along with his beard... This is the man I must seduce.' - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Winter 1539. The young, beautiful Catherine Howard leaves her residence to go and serve the future Queen of England, Anne of Cleves, a German Protestant. But beneath this seemingly simple task, a deeper and much more complex plot is at hand. Charged with the same task as her infamous cousin Anne Boleyn, Catherine must use all of her charm and wit to seduce King Henry VIII and save the Howards from permanent destruction. In this tale of intrigue, deception and injustice, the true story of Catherine Howard's rise and fall from power is told based on real historical events and people. Can Catherine betray a Queen and friend that she has grown fond of? Can she ever escape the curse of her family name and history? Can she catch the King before it is too late?

In a kingdom ruled by men, a young Spanish woman is handed over to England to be the Tudor's new toy, and eventually, the queen. This woman is Catherine of Aragon, the first wife of Henry VIII. Her journey began long before her marriage and ascension to queen, and ended long after she was replaced by the infamous Anne Boleyn. Her story is often overshadowed and forgotten, but she may be one of the most remarkable women of her time. In the royal court, the walls have ears, and the loyalties of the servants and spies determines who really rules the kingdom. Watch through the eyes of one of Catherine's most trusted maidservants and whisperers, and observe the glamorous world of Catherine of Aragon and her downfall at the hands of lust and love. HISTORICAL DISCLAIMER-- This story is backed by history, though there are many characters of my own imagination. The four maidservants are characters that I created, however, places, events, and many other things are true. If you see an error, ask me about it and I will tell you if it was meant to be that way or not.
