The Crippled Mind

This book is about a young girl Marie- Anna Lumbsden born to aristocratic family in Shadow Creek, Texas, who because of fear and paranoia has been left mentally crippled by her parents. Shielded from a normal and dream-filled life, she grew up an overly sheltered life. The boundaries has limited her ability to function effectively as a normal human being. Not knowing her true potential or what the outside world feels like, she's been poisoned by the stories fed to her brain by a father, who has grown paranoid after losing several children before her. No one communicates much with this little lass, even the common education is being restricted to just piano and voice training.

The only thing she's good for in this family is to entertain maybe, yet she has never entertained them. The little talent that is revealed is not even being put to use either, her purpose still not known. Marie- Anna grew tired of having nothing to do all day or nowhere to go, but stare through a window from ten feet above ground at a world she knew nothing about. She ran away to a world she was told was unsafe for her, and now she was staring death deep in the eyes. Will she survive or will she not. It's a sad and nerve recking situation for the Lumbsden family; they're all worried about Marie- Anna's wellbeing hoping that she's ok and will return to them safely.

Charlisle's challenge has just began and he knows not what to do or even where to begin his search for her. In a time like this you would think that growing up on such an estate would have made it easy for him to find his daughter or even given him an advantage. But the poor man was so confused he could not remember one secret hide outs on this land or how it was set up.
